Error 1607: Unable to Install InstallShield Scripting Runtime

Today, I ran into this error while installing Renesas AutoUpdate Utility at work and could not complete the installation. I tried the fixes I found on the web, but none of them worked. On a hunch, I disabled Virus Buster, and the installer finally ran successfully.
